About Me

Hello! My name is Adam Acs, and I am a senior at Drake University studying multimedia journalism & psychology.

I was born in Hastings, MN, along the riverfront, in 2005 to my parents, Denisa and Robert Acs. I grew up in Cottage Grove, MN, where I played soccer, rode my bike around the neighbourhood, discovered my love of the internet, and spent time with friends and family.

I attended KinderCare preschool, Lincoln Center elementary, and Math and Science Academy for middle and high school. I originally wanted to be many things, including a rock star, the president of the U.S., and a biologist. However, I eventually chose psychology after taking AP Psychology in my senior year of high school, and I decided to major in journalism after declaring communications/undecided at Drake University.

While at Drake, I have grown a lot as an individual and as a leader. I joined a fraternity (which I never thought I would), called Tau Kappa Epsilon, Alpha-Xi chapter. I served as the recruitment chairman and president for my fraternity, and I currently serve as the Interfraternity Council president for the entire university, helping create events and handle conflict amongst the houses.

I have also served on the Honors Executive Council Board as communications chair, a writer for the Times-Delphic student newspaper, and currently am wrapping up my time with the Adam’s Leadership Institute program.

As for my personal life, I enjoy spending time with friends, going for walks and bike rides, playing video games, watching YouTube, and traveling. A good mix of relaxation and exploration is key for a healthy mind and body. I am also currently dating my girlfriend of 4 months, Julia, and can confidently say I am the happiest I have been in a relationship, as we celebrated our anniversary by exploring Des Moines, IA, going out to restaurants, bars, parks, natural scenery, and spending time together watching movies and playing games.

I am very passionate about politics and freedom of the press, as being a resident of the Twin Cities Metro Area during the Metro Surge of ICE agents in early 2026, and the subsequent murders of Renee Godo and Alex Pretti, sparked me to become involved in activism and utilize my voice for change both professionally and interpersonally.

I hope to change the world for the better and inspire others to make the change they want to see in the world through my writing. I also hope to enjoy my 20s, live life to the fullest, and continue to grow as a person, discovering new things about myself and this rock in space every single day.
